Body facts or are they?

OK, let’s try something different. I get chain mails (who doesn’t) and the most recent claims to share some facts about the human body. Let’s break this down and question these facts!

1. It takes your food seven seconds to get from your mouth to your stomach. I say: OK I’ll actually buy this one but I will say there are certain food liquid hybrids that would break the rule such as a smoothie.
2.  The average man’s penis is three times the length of his thumb. I say: Bullshit! No way is this true, it may be for a fraction of the population but it doesn’t qualify as a fact. Don’t ask me how I know.
3.  Human thighbones are stronger than concrete. I say: Hard to prove or disprove this one however, there are different kinds of concrete that all carry a strength rating so this could be true for a certain kind of concrete.
4.  A woman’s heart beats faster than a man’s. I say: The internet seems to back this up so consider this a fact!
5.  There are about one trillion bacteria on each of your feet. I say: Google seems to state different numbers so I’ll just say this may be true.
6.  Women blink twice as often as men. I say: It’s impossible to tell because how often you blink depends on age, stress, and other factors, not gender.
7.  The average person’s skin weighs twice as much as the brain. I say: This could be true and is not out of the realm of possibility.
8. Your body uses 300 muscles to balance itself when you are standing still. I say: Not sure, but you do use a large amount of muscles.
9.  If saliva cannot dissolve something, you cannot taste it. I say: Put a freaking rock in your mouth and have fun with that one.
